Accessibility

Everyone benefits from an accessible environment.
At Kruunupuisto, accessibility means safety, quality, and equal participation. Accessibility and diversity are considered in all areas and surroundings of Kruunupuisto to ensure the comfort of all our customers. In the design of the facilities, both customers requiring assistance and those who are independent have been taken into account. We offer rooms for people with mobility or functional limitations, as well as for those who need help in everyday life. Assistance and guide dogs are welcome in our hotel. A comprehensive selection of general-purpose assistive devices is available to customers, including wheelchairs, walkers, patient lifts, walking frames, various shower chairs, and raised toilet seats, along with other small aids.

Parking
Accessible parking spaces and disabled parking spots marked with a handicap permit are located near the hotel reception and restaurant entrance.

Entrance and public areas
The hotel’s main entrance doors open automatically, and there is no threshold. There are seating areas and a wheelchair-accessible restroom in the lobby. The shop located in the lobby is accessible by wheelchair. Clear signage is provided in the facilities and corridors to assist with navigation.

Accommodation
The hotel rooms in the main building are located on the Jugend side in two floors, as well as on the 3rd floor of the newer Fitness Building. Both floors are accessible by elevator and stairs. The hotel corridors are wheelchair accessible. The Jugend Villa Urhola and Mäntyranta holiday apartments are about 400 meters from the main building. The rooms in Urhola are on two floors, with access only via stairs. The doors of Mäntyranta apartments range in width from 71-85 cm, and the front door has a threshold, but ramps can be provided if necessary.

Rooms
Kruunupuisto’s accessible 1-2 person rooms (27 rooms) are located in the main building. All rooms are equipped with accessible features, such as accessible bathrooms with a toilet and shower, TV, hairdryer, and wireless internet access. The layout is designed to accommodate mobility aids (door widths, furniture placement, no thresholds). The rooms have electrically adjustable beds with height, backrest, and foot adjustments. The bathrooms feature support rails and a shower seat. Some rooms also have height-adjustable sinks and toilets that are suitable for wheelchair users. Other rooms can be equipped with raised toilet seats. There is enough space under the desk to accommodate a wheelchair. Some rooms and bathrooms have a nurse call system.

Restaurant
Restaurant Kruunupuisto is a 120-seat restaurant located on the 2nd floor of the main building. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner from a buffet daily, and in the evenings it operates as an à la carte restaurant. The Kruunu Café, located next to the reception, offers savory and sweet pastries as well as beverages with full alcohol licensing. The entrances to both the restaurant and café are accessible. Food ingredient labels are provided in the buffet and on the menus.

Gym
The Kruunupuisto gym is equipped with versatile Technogym equipment, suitable for people with mobility limitations. The gym is available to customers during public hours in their free time.

Meeting and group rooms
Kruunupuisto offers two lecture rooms for 50-80 people, as well as ten smaller group rooms for 8-20 people. Additionally, there are open gathering spaces available on the accommodation floors for customer use. All rooms are accessible, and there are seating areas and accessible restrooms outside the meeting rooms. A portable hearing loop system is available for meetings, allowing hearing aid users to listen to amplified sound without background noise.

Kruunupuisto’s extensive courtyard has paved paths suitable for wheelchairs. From the hotel courtyard, there is an accessible route to the Valkialampi viewpoint. The route is marked with orange paint markers and is 0.3 km long. The Topelius Path is a 2.2 km long scenic route marked between Kruunupuisto and Hotel Punkaharju.
